Wow, this is a really pretty story about the beginnings of online community, i like it mucho.

i did bbs’s very rarely, i remember the first thing i saw on the internet that really made me realize i could talk to people that were nothing like the people i saw everyday though. and it was on some long-forgotten bbs. that story makes me remember learning about computers, it was so fun, i didn’t have anything to go on much, i remember i thought the weirdest things. i remember when i realized the apple in the top left corner has things like calculators and notepads, and wasn’t just a logo on my mac 512K, haha. and when i got the new lc (with a color monitor, and a microphone!!) i was uber-excited. i still sorta miss that bi-directional mosaic arrow, and the default gray background. (who would want a background other than gray?!) the exciting part is it’s so much better now :)
