Oh Sweet Jesus

My ISP hasn’t work since sunday. I called them Sunday of course saying that it wasn’t working. The problem was the signal in the apartment. The modem wasn’t connecting and was doing the flashing light routine. I told them this. The things I should try according to the tech support people include: call apple tech support, reinstall my ethernet card, reinstall the “drivers” for the ethernet card, delete my tcp stack. Thankfully I knew that those were all retarded plans and didn’t do any of them, I feel sorry for the other people who use them. It’s “broadband now”, by the way.

One of the funnier things that happened, one girl had me plug the modem into another outlet in the house, to make sure it wasn’t just this jack; which although unlikely I suppose is a possibility. I did and sure enough same problem over there. Then a guy later told me that it was my computer causing the problems (and thus I would need to reinstall my ethernet card…) I told him that the modem would not connect regardless of whether it was attached to my computer, or whether it was in the same room. Undisturbed by this fact he said I would need to reinstall drivers and call Apple… blah.
