RSS and Sidekick

I really wish there was an RSS reader for Sidekick, which I have recently purchased. The sidekick II, I like it a lot so far. The speakerphone is nice surprisingly. Email, and text messaging is very good also, and reception is much better than my Sony-Ericsson t610. The browser is good and bad. I like the fact that the danger servers reformat things for you and make the pictures take up the width of the screen etc, also the speed seems pretty nice for GPRS. The browser seriously needs to either ignore CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), get it right, or use the handheld option. This site for example is a complete mess on a hiptop.

I signed up as a developer so I could maybe see what the hiptop was doing with the page. Aha, a website optimization guide! The answer, I thought! Sadly no section 7.3.1 reads: “The hiptop Web Browser supports cascading style sheets, but you should limit your use of them to formatting text. Using CSS for layout is not recommended.”

Well, that’s not a workable solution. So this site will continue to look like crap for me, the only person to ever look at it with a sidekick anyway.
