Mechanical Turk

Wow, I didn’t really see this coming so soon, although I guess that’s to be expected. It does seem like something Amazon or google would do though, and I think it is key. I’m very excited about this.

I am not completely sure computers will ever get to the point where we can ask them to do things in a rapid, useful way, especially in mobile situations. There are a lot of times when it would be nice to have a real person be able to do something for you quickly. I would be willing to do things for people when I’m home if that were reciprocated when i was mobile. This seems like an ideal infrastructure for that to work.

Think how nice it would be if that little java app in your mobile device could task not only a crappy mobile processor but an actual human to do something for you online quickly. Look something up, or find something. Who knows the possibilities.
