Looks like google finally launched google base. I like the semantic web, maybe this is the right approach, people need help making valid statements. Also I hate ebay with a passion, and anything that can knock them down is great, especially something as open as this.

eBay is very meaningful to me. I don’t know how you could hate it.
I don’t understand though how it competes with eBay. Maybe you could explain.
The only real competition with them now is just the fact that they are allowing people to sell things online, gbase doesn’t have any auction system. But gbase’s info is very open and an auction system either from google later, or even from another company could be overlaid onto the system. google is also working on a payment system of some kind, so that’s a possibility too, but that route seems less likely.
