The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Ok, let me say first of all that I grew up in a very christian family and the books were somewhat formative for me, i read them all and loved them. So, I may be a little bit biased but this movie is fantastic. It’s magical in a way many children’s books and movies, especially the more recent ones, are not. C.S. Lewis wrote in a different time, and for very different reasons than someone like JK Rowling. It wasn’t entirely to entertain, it was also to build character, and teach, and for someone who believed completely in god and satan the concepts of evil, and the willingness to deal with it were a moral imperative rather than simply a plot device. Regardless, I think those differences create a plot and world that is entirely more immersive than something like Harry Potter, and much more akin to Lord of the Rings.
