Google Video
Google video finally updated their system, and it’s pretty cool! nice avi downloads for everything, and ipod and psp downloads for most stuff, all free unless it’s the for pay videos. You can upload your own videos and set a price if you want. The DRM is currently windows only though, which is a rare blunder for google. Anyway, they even let you add video to your own site with no ads which is surprisingly cool.
I was prepared for the coolness of having people be able to sell their own videos and make 70% of the profits, but now you can also upload your own video and have it appear on your site streaming from google’s servers with apparently no ads, for free, in fairly high quality. I think this will be a big win for google!
Update: After playing with it a little while, it totally needs user tags for video, and the turnaround time for uploads to be visible to decrease.
