OpenDNS

I am trying OpenDNS out for a while, mainly to see if it’s faster. I do think it’s a neat idea though, a for-profit DNS. Usually DNS services are provided by your ISP, but there is no reason they have to be, and it’s certainly not used by the ISPs as a differentiator. DNS errors do cause a lot of connection problems, and there are a few nice things that a good DNS can do. Help protect people from phishing attacks, and simple spelling correction are what they are starting off with, but one could imagine new directions for them in the future.
