Yikes
Apparently there is a new drug that can selectively remove specific memories from rats. It seems not only to interfere with how short term memories are made permanent, but can remove the permanent ones as well.
This will probably be an interesting issue going forward, there have been a lot of advances in memory recently. What will it mean when memory is more malleable? As usual, fiction writing has explored a lot of these issues, but most of the outcomes are not what most people would consider ideal. On the bright side it may be a huge leap for learning, but the negative possibilities are almost too many to mention.
