This is why I like apple’s ecosystem so much. People notice things, and they get fixed. Maybe this is a good example of the broken window theory, or maybe windows/linux users really just don’t care, but you know what? The fact that the expanded area in the system tray in windows is a different color of blue than the non-expanded area gets noticed by some people!

I didn’t know about the “broken windows” theory, and it certainly does explain some things, like why my building is so cruddy. It’s because the bad neighbors can do bad things and suffer no punishment, nor are things repaired.
BTW, the Atlantic won’t let you read the article, so it’s good that Google has read it and remembers it.
Do you think the Leopard icon problem will be changed?
I think there’s a pretty good chance of it, 10.5 isn’t finalized yet at all. I’m not so sure how well apple listens to developers, but they are perfectionists, and probably wouldn’t want to be embarrassed :) We’ll see.
Especially since it seems to violate Apple’s own guidelines!
