Meebo

Meebo might have the best customer service ever.

I had a weird little problem. Meebo’s affiliate backgrounds weren’t working for me. There was no actual problem with any chat functionality, so I thought, ehh, I’ll email them about it and maybe someone will read it one day. It didn’t seem like it would get much attention and my tone was definitely in the “I noticed this, maybe you care, but I don’t expect a response, it’s ok” range.

Anyway, I got a very prompt response (like less than an hour I think) from a real person with a real name! Over 10 emails she helped troubleshoot the problem, a weird combination of Adblock, and SSL connection, and a programmer actually fixed it in like 24 hours! When I told her I was forcing an SSL connection, using firefox, and didn’t want to lose Adblock, I assumed at some point she would give the “Well, we don’t really support that configuration” line. Not once! And not even a hint of it, for all I know it never crossed her mind! Awesome.

This is completely out of the realm of my experience with customer service. Great job Meebo on your super useful app, (I don’t have to install 3 craptastic clients on my work computer!), and a serious thanks for the amazing customer service!
