McCain is trying to dampen the raging, racist mobs’ anger (calling Obama a terrorist etc), after spending days getting them all riled up. It was a bad move to get them so angry in the first place, but I don’t know how well this will work. It’s probably too late to change the RNC strategy, but that’s clearly what needs to happen.
